There were over 50 clubs at John Marshall’s 2024 Club Rush, and many caught the eye of the student population. Club Rush is a biannual event that allows students to branch out, meet new people, and grasp new opportunities. Occurring just once each semester, where students and staff rush to see what new and returning clubs are doing this year. Let’s take a look at some of the clubs this year.
“Red Cross is a student-run organization that leads the way for students and staff members alike to learn about and be educated regarding topics such as health and safety. It also gives volunteer experience. This year, it’s teaching people life-saving skills, such as how to use AEDs and how to do CPR.” As explained by co-leader Lawrence.
As stated by club leader, Chloe, “Key Club is a volunteer-focused organization that raises money for the Pediatric Trauma Program (PTP), which is also state-wide and involves the following states: Nevada, Hawaii, and California.”
Other clubs, such as the Photography Cub and Board Game Club, give unique opportunities to meet people with shared interests and branch out. Club leaders Ebin and Monica said, “The photography club’s goal this year is to create an environment where students can make memories.”
Finally, club leaders, Gabriel and Adriano, express that the Board Game club aims to create a safe space for those who wouldn’t typically have a space to do what they love.
The importance of Club Rush at John Marshall High is that it brings the diverse population of students together and those who don’t typically find themselves to be outgoing can find people who share similar interests.
