On September 27th, seniors crammed the football field wrapped in blankets for the annual Senior Sunrise event. Due to the cold and moist weather, students were forced to huddle as they were waiting in line to get into the field. Around 6:10 a.m, ASB members opened the “M” gate to let in the waiting seniors. Mr. Moran, head of ASB, was at the entrance scanning senior’s IDs making sure they got their hours cleared before the event.
Senior Sunrise is an annual event made for raising money for senior activities and a bonding event. This event allowed seniors to bring their own blankets and food to the field. ASB members set up concession stands where seniors can buy food and drinks, and also brought out equipment for many activities. They brought out Jumbo Jenga, mini tricycles, soccer balls, frisbees, and pickleball. Half of the seniors played soccer on the side closer to the 600s.
The sunrise was a bit of a let down because of the increased fog. When asked how they enjoyed the sunrise event, one student said, “It was fun, but there was no sun.” Despite the main guest, the Sun, not making its appearance, seniors had fun playing the games provided.
