According to spacelaunchschedule.com, Space Exploration Technologies Corporation, otherwise known as SpaceX, is conducting a mission this Wednesday at 8:21 pm titled Starlink Group 9-11 to deliver “A batch of satellites for the Starlink mega-constellation – SpaceX’s project for space-based Internet communication system.” This mission will launch from Space Launch Complex 4E at Vandenberg Space Force Base, utilizing SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket’s Block 5 variant, which is “…the fifth major interval aimed at improving upon the ability for rapid reusability.” The Falcon 9 is “…a two-stage rocket designed and manufactured by SpaceX for the reliable and safe transport of satellites and the Dragon spacecraft into orbit.” The rocket will reach low earth orbit and cost approximately fifty-two million dollars.
According to flightclub.io, it will launch south/southeast from Vandenberg Space Force Base and may be visible by looking west from Los Angeles. Although some of the best points to view the launch will be in the town of Lompoc, California, the website explorelompoc.com showcases some of the viewing points to get the best look at the rocket launching.
SpaceX is an American space technology company founded by Elon Musk. It operates in multiple states across the country. Its rockets include the Falcon 9, Falcon Heavy, and Super Heavy used on Starship; the Starship represents “…a fully reusable transportation system designed to carry both crew and cargo to Earth orbit, the Moon, Mars and beyond.”
SpaceX also makes a spacecraft called the Dragon, which utilizes the Falcon series of rockets to carry passengers and cargo to and from space.
