As Halloween grows closer, one of the many ways you can partake in some spooky festivities is by attending Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios. Hosted on select dates from Sept. 6 to Nov. 3, ticket prices range from $77-$107 depending on the night you decide to attend. At Horror Nights, you can spend an entire night basked in fear, from 7 p.m. to 1 or 2 a.m. depending on the day you attend.
Halloween Horror Nights offers an array of different mazes, scare zones, and rides. Mazes are based on the most popular horror movies of the year, with one maze featuring music artist The Weeknd. There are 8 unique mazes available to visitors of the park, which include:
- Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire
- Monstruos 2: The Nightmares of Latin America
- A Quiet Place
- Insidious: The Further
- Dead Exposure: Death Valley
- The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Legacy of Leatherface
- The Weeknd: Nightmare Trilogy
- Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines
Wait times for each maze varies from twenty minutes to nearing an hour and a half depending on the popularity of the individual attraction. The mazes take you through rooms of extravagant decorations, with scare actors at every corner. Not only do the visuals bring the attractions to life — the extravagant audio and smells running through each maze help bring the spine-chilling labyrinth to a whole other level.
The terror tram was another attraction available to park visitors. After taking a short five minute tram, you are dropped off in an area filled to the brim with decorations, scare actors, and a variety of short haunted houses. This year the terror tram included references to a multitude of different movies including:
- The Black Phone
- The Purge
- M3GAN
- Freaky
- Happy Death Day
If the mazes weren’t scary enough for you, there were also various scare zones scattered around the amusement park. Here you could encounter 12 feet tall scare actors walking on stilts as well as masked chainsaw men running at you at full speed. There were also a few rides that were open to the public, including The Mummy and Jurassic Park.
At Universal Horror Nights, Halloween is taken to a completely different level. From chainsaw men to Latin American monsters, Horror Nights is definitely the place you want to be on Halloween.
